Posted: 3/25 Man Dies, 3 Others Injured in Torrey Street Crash, Racing Suspected
A 22-year-old Massasoit student and Brockton High School graduate was killed Tuesday night after a four-car crash on Torrey Street that may have been caused by racing cars.Police confirmed this morning that Richard Falzone, 22, of Easton, was pronounced dead at the scene.Police are investigating the cause of the accident, but witnesses have said two cars, including one Falzone was driving, were racing on Torrey Street, a long-strip of road between Brockton and Easton notorious for speeders.Two women, described as uninvolved in the race, were seriously injured and trapped in a blue Kia sedan when the car overturned and was crushed.Brockton firefighters removed one woman from the wreck quickly, while the second woman was trapped for about 30 minutes.Both women were transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center.A third man was also taken to a nearby hospital.It is the second fatal crash in Brockton in less than a week.Last Friday Southeastern Regional Technical High School sophomore and Brockton resident Ryan Orcutt was killed when his motorcycle crashed at the intersection of East and Edson streets.
